Terms of Service

Last updated: 29 May 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using the Ryda website (ryda.co.uk) or the Ryda Chrome extension (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Ryda Ltd. ("Ryda", "we", "our", "us"). We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Description of service

Ryda provides a Chrome browser extension and associated web dashboard that allows users to save personal, vehicle, and driving history details and automatically populate car insurance quote forms on supported third-party websites in the United Kingdom.

The Service does not provide insurance quotes, insurance advice, or insurance products. Ryda is a form-filling utility only. Any insurance quotes or policies you obtain through third-party sites are entirely between you and those third parties.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

3. Eligibility

To use the Service you must:

  • Be at least 17 years of age (the minimum legal age to hold a UK driving licence);
  • Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract; and
  • Not be prohibited from using the Service under applicable law.

The Service is designed for use by UK residents. Some features, such as DVLA vehicle lookups, are only available for UK-registered vehicles. Use of the Service outside the United Kingdom is at your own risk and may not function as intended.

4. Your account

To use the Service you must create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account and to update your information promptly if it changes. You must notify us immediately at hello@ryda.co.uk if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

You may not share your account credentials with any other person. Each account is for use by a single individual, though you may create profiles for other drivers in your household within a single account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Use the Service to provide false or misleading information to insurers or comparison sites;
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service;
  • Attempt to scrape, extract, or systematically download data from the Service;
  • Use the Service to interfere with or disrupt third-party websites or services;
  • Use the Service in any way that violates any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation;
  • Use the Service to transmit unsolicited communications or spam;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its related systems.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who breaches these acceptable use requirements.

6. Intellectual property

All content, code, design, trademarks, logos, and other materials comprising the Service are owned by or licensed to Ryda Ltd. and are protected by UK and international intellectual property laws.

The Ryda name, wordmark, and logo are trademarks of Ryda Ltd. You may not use our trademarks without our prior written permission, except as expressly permitted in our media guidelines.

You retain ownership of the personal data you submit to the Service. By submitting data, you grant Ryda a limited licence to store and process that data solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please read our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

8. Disclaimers

Ryda is a form-filling utility. It is not an insurance broker, insurance intermediary, or financial adviser. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial or insurance advice.

The accuracy of autofilled information depends on the accuracy of the details you have saved in your profile. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of all information before submitting an insurance quote or application.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Ryda Ltd., its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

Our total liability to you in connection with the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid to Ryda in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time by emailing privacy@ryda.co.uk.

We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if we reasonably determine that you have materially breached these Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections 6, 8, 9, and 11 of these Terms survive termination.

11. Governing law

These Terms and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

You and Ryda Ltd. agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales in respect of any dispute or claim arising out of these Terms, except that either party may seek emergency injunctive relief in any competent court.
